The ACE Mentor Program for Pasadena Unified
This program introduces public high school students to the world of Architecture, Construction and Engineering by providing afterschool meetings in conjunction with a few weekend activities.Scholarships are also given to students who choose to enter an ACE undergrad or apprenticeship program.We have been involved with the program for a number of years now, but this will be our first year as Co-Leader’s of the Pasadena Unified Team.Visit http://www.acementor.org/ and watch our team’s progress in the California/LA Metro Chapter over the school year.
SLZUSD Measure E Renovation & Renewal DSA Submittal
The team is excited to submit the SLZUSD project to DSA for review.We believe there are some really interesting design and education items that are included and this is a big step towards our spring ground breaking.
Woodleaf Outdoor School Land Donation & Phase One Kick Off
Sutter County Schools is being donated a large swath of land from a local lumber company to construct a permanent home for their outdoor school.Gaylaird is going to join the festivities and present the Phase One Design Concept.Visit www.woodleaf.org to learn more about the organization.

A4E was please to meet with students and faculty from the Faculty of Engineering at Chiba University, www.chiba-u.ac.jp.
We took a brief tour of the new Southeast Area New High School. We then visited the existing Camino Nuevo Charter High School facilities as well as their new campus that will be completed this fall.
LA Dodgers Baseball Game
The office took a night off to enjoy a baseball game. It was the only dull game in a series of exciting victories, however we all had a great time eating dodger dogs, cotton candy, cracker jacks, ice cream…perhaps our next office outing should be at the gym.
