The ACE Mentor Program for Pasadena Unified
The students continue to work on their year long ACE project. Four teams are designing emergency housing that would sit on their football fields after a big california earthquake. They are researching sustainable ideas, structural systems with a little anthropology thrown in. Just last week students visited the offices of KPFF (http://www.kpff-pas.com/) to learn about how structural engineers work.

Herget Middle School Wins Award
We are pleased to announce that Herget Middle School is the Grand Prize Winner for the 2007 National School Board Association Architectural Jury. Last year Greenman Elementary (name sound familiar) recieved the grand prize; this is the first time that one school district has won two years in a row, especially with buildings designed by the same architect! We can’t help but be proud. Thanks again to Sherry Eagle for all her hard work.
